Kristóf Ázbej

fine- and project design artist | 1953, Budapest

The most interesting aspect of my fusion painting projects is that they are exclusively made up of quotations from the history of painting. Just like a DJ in the music of recent decades, who also works with ready samples, I mix the motifs, lines, brushstrokes, colours, lights and shades that were used by well-known and lesser- known artists of universal art history. Periods, cultures and styles are blended on my digital palette. The iconography of this new language of form is deeply rooted in the past but in regard to its mission it seeks to show something fundamentally different.
