„Erik Mátrai graduated as a painter from the

Hungarian University of Fine Arts but in recent years his experimentation with space, surfaces and light has moved his works into a far broader and freer artistic realm. The person and interaction of the viewer are equally important in his often site-specific installations exploring the concepts and phenomena of the ethereal and the transcendent. His works balancing on the boundary of kinetic and light art often function as catalysts: they create an atmosphere and a meditative environment.”
