György Verebes

painter, graphic artist | 1965, Senta, SRB

He graduated in 1989 with a degree in Graphic Art from the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, then until 1992 studied Art at the same institution under the tutelage of Károly Raszler and Imre Kocsis. Since 2002 he has worked as a member of the Szolnok Art Colony, and has been its artistic director since 2003. Since 2017 he has been chairman of the Hungarian Day of Painting. His works feature regularly in exhibitions in Hungary and abroad. In 2015 he received a Magdolna Supka Award and in 2017 a Munkácsy Award and a Prima Award. His works are found in numerous public and private collections.
