János Kósa

painter | 1962, Budapest

He completed his studies between 1985 and 1992, majoring in Painting at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts under the tutelage of Lajos Sváby, Ferenc Kis-Tóth and Zoltán Tölg-Molnár. Today he is associate professor at the Painting Faculty of the University of Fine Arts. His works have been displayed at numerous solo exhibitions. In 1994 he received a Barcsay Award, in 2014 a Munkácsy Award and in 2019 the Miklós Galyasi Miklós Award for Excellence. His works feature in the collections of the Hungarian National Gallery, the Dunaújváros Institute of Contemporary Art, Saint Stephen’s Museum in Székesfehérvár, KOGART Gallery, Raiffeisen Bank and the Permanent Representation of Hungary to the EU in Brussels.
