József Gaál

painter, graphic artist, sculptor, art writer | 1960, Tahitótfalu

He studied Reproductive Graphics at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts between 1979 and 1986 and has been an exhibiting artist since 1983. Between 1987 and 1993 he taught at the István Ferenczy Drawing Class. Since 1993 he has taught at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, first at the Faculty of Visual Education and then, from 1996, at the Faculty of Painting. He is currently an associate professor. In 1991 he was the recipient of a Munkácsy Award. His works feature in Hungarian and international collections. He is a full member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. He had a solo exhibition in 2018 at Kunsthalle Budapest.
