He graduated in 1975 with a degree in graphics from the Ion Andreescu College of Fine Arts in Cluj-Napoca. Between 1978 and 1984 he was a founding member and one of the organisers of the Marosvásárhelyi Műhely (MAMŰ) workshop in Târgu Mures. He settled in Hungary in 1984 and lives and works in Budapest. Between 1990 and 1993 he worked in the Pantenon Group, and in 1991 he became a founder and member of the re-formed MAMŰ Association. He has been a member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts since 2012. His works have been displayed at numerous solo and group exhibitions. His major awards include: Award of the Hungarian Ministry for Culture (1988), Lajos Vajda Studio Award (1992), Studio of Young Artists’ Association Award (1993, 1994), Munkácsy Award (1998), Kálmán Csohány Award (1998), Mozgó Világ (magazine) Award for Excellence (2006).
