Szilárd Cseke

painter, fine artist | 1967, Pápa

He graduated in painting from the University of Pécs in 1991 and completed the institution’s doctoral school of fine arts in 1995. His masters were Ilona Keserü, István Bencsik and Gyula Konkoly. The subjects of his paintings are the natural environment and social phenomena, which he addresses in series, while his interactive installations explore identity, the economy and society. His project titled Sustainable Identities, in which he combines different media, was included in the 56th Venice Art Biennial. He received the Munkácsy Award in 2014. His works in public collections: Ludwig Museum, Budapest; Deutsche Telekom, Bonn; AXA Art Americas, New York.
