Géza Szily

painter | 1938, Tolna

He graduated in mural painting from the College of Arts and Crafts (today the Mo-holy-Nagy University of Art and Design) in 1966. He primarily works with watercolour, acrylic and oil. Amidst the rapid changes of the modern world and art, he has remained sensitive to human emotions as well as profound and cathartic experiences. His works are distinguished by high standards of execution. He is a member of several art organisations. He was a founding member and chairman of the Hungarian society of Watercolour Painters for 25 years. He has been regularly exhibiting his art in Hungary and abroad. He received the Munkácsy Award in 2007. His works can be found in private and public collections (Hungarian National Gallery, Mór Wosinszky Museum, Kugler Collection).
