I paint what does not exist… what does not exist but would be great if it did, and what does not exist and would be good if it did not.
I cannot consider anything else but my constraints that bring out mixed statements, exaggerations and unleashed gestures from me.
Melancholy: it expresses the manifestations of a state of mind that has been regarded since ancient antiquity until today as one of the main characteristic features of the creating spirit and great artistic achievement. The notion of melancholy is both linked to the finiteness of human knowledge and to the infinity of the universe.
