Zoltán Sebestyén

Munkácsy Award laureate painter | 1954, Budapest

My works are figurative with people in their focus with all their virtues, frailties and vulnerabilities. During the creative process the constant movement of emotions, thoughts and memories, their emergence and dissolution, their appearance and disappearance, as well as associative situations generated by constant change are important for me. In my paintings peculiar people and figures, strange and often seemingly familiar, find themselves in situations that appear to be undecipherable. These blurry, dissolving and dream-like snapshots cross the boundaries of reality.
